Hey Mollie,
Here's a suggestion for one of those "one day" shows you were talking about.
How about some of the all-time top stolen base leaders??
Rickey Henderson Lou Brock Tim Raines Vince Coleman Joe Morgan Kenny Lofton Otis Nixon Bert Campaneris Maury Wills Ozzie Smith
That's just 10 names, but that might be good enough for one of those one day shows, as there is a bunch of big time players....Just a thought....

MAB had planned on having a "Speedster" show a few years back, but I think plans fell thru since the main stolen base leaders (Henderson, Brock) were unavailable. I remember Mollie had come on the board polling all of us for a clever show name. He wasn't necessarily a speedster towards the end of his career, but as one of only 4 players to join the 40-40 club*, Alfonso Soriano would be a good addition. *The other 3, Canseco, Bonds, and A-Rod all used PEDs, making the allegedly clean Soriano's 40-40 season even more impressive.

They still had that show. Henderson was a cancellation and I think Raines as well. Brock was definitely there as I got him on several items - the pricing on him for that show if I recall was $49 for flats which was the lowest I had seen in years. From what I recall, they had Ozzie Smith, Wills, Campaneris, Nixon, Willie Wilson and Molitor as far as 500 SB guys go - there might have been another cancellation among those guys. Then they had a few other guys like Ron LeFlore and Omar Moreno I think. One thing I do remember was they had Brian Jordan who had 2 people total buy a public ticket for him and he refused one because it was a football item and this was a "baseball show". He sat there for a half hour doing absolutely nothing. The show in general was not well attended.

On the December show, I am doing football. Sat I was thinking of Steelers/Cowboys and Sunday I was thinking all QB's. What are your thoughts to all? And in October, I was thinking of Cy Young Winners? What are your thoughts? Keep them coming. I am trying to do some one day shows, because I love them. They're so easy and you guys seem to like them. So we're looking at September. A Cy Young show sounds great. Especially if Seaver could attend (I would take a private signing at this point). Enough with Mets/Yanks ties to keep the locals happy (Gooden/Guidry/Viola/Cone/Santana/Hershiser/Saberhagen/Lyle etc).
I would love another NY Rangers show. I cleaned up on a bunch of missing 1994 Cup guys, but there are several who haven't been around much (Mike Hudson, Doug Lidster, Ed Olczyk, Craig MacTavish specifically). Even Neil Smith and the coaching staff (Keenan/Colin Campbell/Dick Todd) are on the team pictures and celebration shots, but don't appear often.

They still had that show. The show in general was not well attended. I must take exception to this statement. MAB, by their own admission, has NEVER had a show which was not only not successful but almost always has been record breaking in attendance. MAB has a history of more players canceling at certain shows than actually showed up and they still crushed it when all was said and done. Man, they once had a weekend where they didn't even have a show scheduled and there was still a record turnout. Go ahead just ask them.

Hi Mollie...I saw that you had 2 1969 Jets shows back in 2012 and was wondering if another reunion show might be a possibility. I started collecting that team recently and would love the chance to get some of the guys you had at those shows (maybe in conjunction with the QB show you are thinking about?). A name I would like to see at the Boston show would be Babe Parilli as he was the QB for the Boston Patriots from 1961-67 and also a member of the 1969 Jets (I'd make the trip up to Boston for him!).
Another 1994 Rangers show would be great too. I am also looking for some of the elusive members of that team.

Alfonso Soriano is #289. I don't think he would be a good addition..........
Soriano is not #289, he had 289 stolen bases, which makes him #173. About half of those 173 played the majority of their careers before 1920. So, among modern players he's among the top 100. Whether that makes a difference or not, I don't know. But 40-40 is a stolen base "achievement", so I guess you are just interested in a show based solely on career stolen base totals? Regardless, after requesting him many times and from speaking about it specifically with promoters over the years, Soriano won't do a public signing. I don't think he's done one since his rookie year.

Many athletes don't like to do public appearances while they are active players, as they (a) don't "need" the money and (b) like to enjoy their time away during the offseason. Plus, Soriano would leave the states and go to the Dominican Republic during his time away. Now that he is retired, I would imagine his schedule is very different and would very much be available, if he's interested. Roger - while he's not the stolen base threat that Lou Brock or Rickey Henderson were, he was the last to go 40-40 and perhaps only to do it authentically. Heck, if any promoter was able to bring in say the elusive Sandy Koufax during a themed show that he didn't qualify for, they would certainly make the exception to profit off of a rare autograph guest.

Better example - look how many shows Bernie Williams has done since he retired. He used to be a very elusive autograph prior to retirement, but he's actually surfaced a decent bit since, both at memorabilia signings, CD signings, and book tours.
